Single Parent Holiday in Germany

This is a hosted single parent holiday in Germany: Bavaria in the Southeast of Germany is full of impressive and unique natural highlights. Discover deep ravines, magical lakes and impressive treetop walkways. But it’s not just the landscape you will marvel at. The Bavarian Forest, our base for this holiday, provides endless opportunities to enjoy fun family activities without any great expense or trouble. Our tailor-made 6-day activity and excursion programme will include the longest tree-top hike in the world, a visit to a natural swimming lake, a hike through a wild water gorge, and a day-trip to the stunning town of Passau with a boat trip on the Danube and much more besides.

We will be staying at the charming 3-star Landhotel Koller in the small village of Ringelai in the Bavarian Forest. This lovely authentic Bavarian hotel has 27 rooms, which come with ensuite bathroom, hairdryer, satellite TV, telephone and Wi-Fi. The really special feature of this hotel, though, is its large beer garden with adjacent playground, the perfect space for our parents to enjoy a drink while the kids play happily a few feet away. The hotel also offers an indoor pool and small spa with sauna and infrared cabin, and a large rustic bar area and restaurant, where we will have breakfast and dinner together. We are offering this holiday on half-board basis, including breakfast buffet and 4-course dinner with salad buffet. The hotel offers traditional and Bavarian specialities, using local produce whenever possible.

Programme

Your SPoH host will organize and accompany our group on an exciting 6-day family activity and excursion programme enabling you to see some unique sights and sample some traditional delicacies whilst the kids are thoroughly entertained! Below are some examples of the activities planned – please note that the programme is not yet finalized:

All activities are optional, of course, and your host will be happy to organise any other activities the group might be interested in, such as a visit to an animal park or to Pullman City, a Wild West City with horse and pony riding, stagecoach rides, adventure trails and more.

About The Bavarian Forest

Bavaria is the largest of the 16 federal states of Germany and located in the south east of the country, bordering Austria, the Czech Republic and Switzerland. It is Germany’s most-visited region by far, a popular destination for tourists from all over the world thanks to its rich history dating back to the sixth century, beautiful and varied nature, cultural events such as the Oktoberfest (the world’s biggest beer festival), its wide-ranging traditional cuisine, and probably the world’s best sausages!

The Bavarian Forest offers more than 300 clearly marked footpaths and dozens of different cycling routes – a true paradise for anyone who loves the outdoor life. The forest is home to a diverse population of animals, including owls, ravens, wood grouse and otters, as well as rare specimens such as the white-backed or three-toed woodpecker, and the pygmy owl. Part of the Bavarian Forest belongs to the Bavarian Forest National Park founded in 1970, Germany’s very first national park, and together with the Bohemian Forest National Park, the largest unbroken area of protected forest in Central Europe.

We will be staying at the small village of Ringelai, in the Bavarian Forest– the starting-point for the hike through the Buchberger Leite, widely considered one of the most impressive wild water gorges anywhere in the Bavarian Forest. Our charming village is the perfect base for our 6-day activity programme.

At Single Parents on Holiday, we do not restrict you to fly from a particular UK airport – we let you choose your most convenient departure point. This means you can travel from any airport in the UK, Ireland or anywhere else in the world. Return flights currently start at £ 90 per person depending on the departure airport, airline and time of booking.

Single Parents on Holiday Ltd. is a company committed to customer satisfaction and consumer financial protection. We are therefore pleased to announce that, at no extra cost to you, and in accordance with the “The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018” all passengers booking with Single Parents on Holiday Ltd. are fully insured for the initial deposit, and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation invoice. The policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Single Parents on Holiday Ltd.
