Our single parent holiday in Italy is the perfect holiday for single parent families looking for relaxation, in a location away from the tourist masses.

Our family run 3-star hotel Baja Azzurra is located near the small village of Barisardo on the eastern coast of Sardinia. The beautiful bay of ‘Torre de Bari’, with its secluded golden sandy beach and stunning crystal-clear waters, is only stone’s throw away. The hotel Baja Azzurra has just 21 rooms, all newly and beautifully renovated and the owners are very friendly – so you will feel instantly at home. There is plenty to keep you and the children entertained, from the lovely gardens with olive trees and play area to the swimming pool, small tennis court and pool table. The rooms are air conditioned and have en suite bathroom, telephone, satellite TV, hairdryer, refrigerator, WiFi and a balcony or terrace with views of the surrounding gardens or pool.

Breakfast is buffet style, while dinner is served as a 3-course meal with focus on fresh local produce and authentic Sardinian dishes. The hotel boasts its own vegetable garden providing the kitchen with fresh vegetables every day, and a bar where parents can enjoy a drink together after dinner.

Programme

We will complement this beautiful beach holiday with a range of fun activities. Activities will take place in the mornings or late afternoons to allow you to spend the hottest time of the day at the pool or beach. The activities we plan to offer in your week of stay are as follows:

  • Guided hike through countryside
  • Snorkelling excursion (at a surcharge)
  • Horse riding for the children
  • Kayaking excursion (at a surcharge)
  • Visit of the impressive Ulassai Caves (at a surcharge)
  • Water sports at the beach, including windsurfing, canoeing and paddling (at a surcharge)

All activities will be organised by your Single Parents on Holiday host, who will discuss the details with the group upon arrival.

About Sardinia

Sardinia lies in the central Mediterranean Sea, and at 24,090 square kilometres in size, it is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean, after Sicily and before Cyprus. The island is an autonomous region of Italy. Alongside Italian, the island has its own language, Sardu, a distinct branch of the Romance languages rather than a dialect of Italian, with strong Catalan and Spanish influences.

Sardinia is rich in history and boasts over 7,000 prehistoric archaeological sites dating back to 1,500 B.C.. The island is often described as an open-air museum. Sardinia is largely unspoilt by mass tourism, and 25% of the land has been designated as national parkland or wildlife reserves.

Barisardo is a small town in Ogliastra on the eastern coast of Sardinia, famed for its wild countryside, unspoilt beaches and crystal-clear waters. Barisardo is located inland from the bay of ‘Torre di Barì’, and overlooked by the Spanish tower of the same name. Ogliastra is the most mountainous region of Sardinia with mountains rising to over 1000 meters. Consequently it is the least-populated and most unspoilt region of the island.

At Single Parents on Holiday, we do not restrict you to flying from a particular UK airport – we let you choose the point of departure most convenient for you. This means you can travel from any airport in the UK, Ireland or anywhere else in the world.

Your transfer from and to Cagliari airport on the advertised holiday dates at designated arrival and departure times is included in our holiday price (short waiting times may apply!).

We are therefore pleased to announce that, at no extra cost to you, and in accordance with the “The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018” all passengers booking with Single Parents on Holiday Ltd. are fully insured for the initial deposit, and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation invoice. The policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Single Parents on Holiday Ltd.
