Not sure where to ski at Easter? Join our fully-organised single parent ski holiday in Hintertux! Located in the Zillertaler Alps, Hintertux is one of only two ski resorts in the world open for skiing all year. The high altitude of the two glaciers forming the ski region, make Hintertux one of the best ski destination at Easter as it’s snow proof even in April.

Your accommodation:

For this single parent ski holiday we will stay at the wonderful 4-star hotel Alpenbad Hotel Hohenhaus in walking distance of the cable car station (or a mere 3-minute shuttle if you don’t fancy walking). We have reserved double and triple rooms with balcony on half-board ‘Plus’ basis with breakfast buffet, après-ski snack, and 5-course dinner. The hotel facilities include an amazing panoramic pool and whirlpool with view of the glacier, spa with several saunas, first-class restaurant and bar, modern fitness room, a trampoline room, a fabulous midnight crazy golf course, and  a small soccer court.

The Hintertux Glacier ski region:

Hintertux is the only resort in Austria where you can ski 365 days a year and one of only two resorts in the world open to skiers all year round. The ski resort offers 21 lifts and 60 km of well-prepared pistes, as well as a range of other highlights, including an ‘ice palace’ atop the glacier, and the Spannangel Cave, a fascinating natural monument and the largest natural stone cave in the Central Alps. In addition, you have access to the nearby Eggalm, which is the entry to the Zillertal Ski & Glacier World with 66 lifts and 202 km of well-prepared slopes. Programme

Your Easter ski holiday with kids in Hintertux

The Hintertux glacier resort has an excellent range of high alpine slopes, with lots of variety, including challenging off piste routes, long, wide pistes,  an excellent valley run, and a freeride park ‘fun slope’ for kids and families. There is plenty of entertainment and challenge on offer for everyone. Due to the altitude of the ski region (3,250 m), excellent snow conditions are guaranteed. In addition to the glacier circuit, we can take the ski shuttle to Eggalm, which is the entry point to the outstanding Zillertal Ski & Glacier World. The large ski region offers another 66 modern lifts and 202 km of well prepared pistes, with a wide range of blue, red and black runs for all levels of ability.

If you are a beginner or wish to improve your technique, you can book ski lessons at the local ski school. Everyone else can join their Single Parents on Holiday host/s, who will ski with the intermediate and advanced skiers. He/she will also organise lift passes for our group of single parent families and take everyone to the ski/snowboard hire shop, where your pre-booked equipment will be waiting. Our hotel will provide a shuttle to the cable car station mornings and afternoons. Alternatively, you can walk to and from the hotel in 15 minutes. There are lockers and a ski hire shop at the cable car station, so you don’t have to worry about carrying ski gear back and forth.

Other activities on offer:

Our hotel has an amazing spa including several saunas and a pool with stunning views of the glacier to help you unwind after a day on the slopes. And for anyone who still feels like a work out at the end of the day, the hotel has a modern fitness room, a trampoline room for adults and children, and a fabulous midnight crazy golf course (see photo). There is also a small indoor football court, table tennis table, table football, a driving simulator and a wonderful kids’ room with games, toys, and a slide to keep both younger kids and teenagers entertained after a day on the slopes, or if they need a break from skiing.

We highly recommend a visit of the ice palace at the top of the glacier and a visit of the impressive Panorama Terrace at 3,250 metres, as well as a visit of the Spannangel cave, the largest stone cave in the Central Alps.

About Hintertux

Hintertux Glacier:

Located on the edge of the famous Zillertal Valley in Tyrol, and close to the mighty Olperer Mountain standing at 3,476 m, Hintertux offers a great choice of pistes against a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop. One of the main attractions is its 12 km run from the Gefrorene Wand (“Frozen Wall”) all the way down to Hintertux.

The three “glacier buses” – large cable cars taking you to the top of the glacier – are an experience in their own right. You will need to take all three of the glacier buses to reach the very top, where you can relax with a drink on the Panorama Terrace, with its breathtaking views, and visit the unique Ice Palace, home to magical ice stalactites, vast, sparkling ice crystals, frozen waterfalls and even a glacial lake. The views and the ice palace make this ski holiday a truly magical experience for both adults and children.

And for anyone who wants to venture out further, the Eggalm is only a 10-minute ski bus ride from our hotel. It offers access to the outstanding Zillertal Ski & Glacier World with 66 modern lifts and 202 km of well prepared pistes, with runs up to 2,300 metres for great spring skiing.

"Fantastic, total hands-off holiday. Kids were happy with other kids. We parents enjoyed our grown up conversations (mostly) at meal times. Book your own flight from any airport in the UK and Ireland. Your airport transfers to/from your hotel are included in our prices if you arrive/depart on the advertised holiday dates. Please note that for this single parent ski trip, we will arrange your transfer by:

  • shuttle or taxi from INNSBRUCK AIRPORT shared with other single parent families from our group if these arrive within 90 minutes of your arrival, or
  • shuttle from MUNICH AIRPORT (not exclusive for our group) departing within 90 minutes of your arrival

We are therefore pleased to announce that, at no extra cost to you, and in accordance with the “The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018” all passengers booking with Single Parents on Holiday Ltd. are fully insured for the initial deposit, and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation invoice.
