• Best for: wide, snowsure glacier slopes ideal for intermediate cruisers, free riders, snowpark enthusiasts, and skiers who like a challenge
• Famous for: Gipfelwelt 3000 & Ice Camp with igloos, ice sculptures, and more
• Highlights: breathtaking views across the Alps at 3,029 m
• Steepest run: the 1,000 m long Black Mamba slope (63% gradient)

Zell am See:

The small town  on the shores of the stunning Lake Zell boasts spectacular, postcard-perfect views, particularly in winter, when the jagged, snow-covered peaks tower in the distance. You can stroll around the lake along the promenade, and in parts, on the frozen lake. In addition, you can ice skate or curl in designated areas of the frozen lake.

The historic old town of Zell am See is mostly pedestrianised, with a charming town square, fashion boutiques and sports shops, shops selling Austrian delicatessen and traditional clothing, cafés, lively bars, and restaurants to explore. As the name implies, our hotel enjoys a prime location in the centre of Zell with views of the lake. The CityXpress cable car station is only a 4-minute walk away giving skiers direct access to wide and perfectly groomed pistes ideal for beginners, intermediate, and advanced skiers. For even more dramatic 360-degree panoramic views, take a moment at the mountain station Schmittenhöhe to admire the thirty 3,000 m-peaks, which include the famous Grossglockner.

No ski holiday in Zell am See is complete without exploring the neighbouring Kaprun and the famous Kitzsteinhorn ski resort, which is easily accessible via a short bus ride. Kitzsteinhorn is one of the most spectacular glaciers in Europe offering breathtaking views, modern lifts, wide panoramic runs, free ride areas, and snow parks. It is also home to the Black Mamba, one of the steepest runs in Austria. Due to its high altitude, the ski resort is snow-sure even in May.
