Single Parent Activity Holiday in Andorra

Join us on a single parent holiday in Andorra. We have chosen the beautiful Sports Hotel Village in Soldeu, a Travellers’ Choice 2014 and 2015 awards winner, as the perfect base for this single parent activity holiday.

This lovely 4-star family hotel is located at the heart of the Pyrenees and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and great facilities, including an outdoor pool, kids club, modern fitness room, impressive spa and more. All hotel rooms are traditionally furnished, and come with en-suite bathroom with hairdryer, satellite TV, telephone, safe and minibar.

The hotel offers a kids club for children from the age of 4, open mornings and afternoons and featuring a fun kids’ programme packed with organised play and daily activities, allowing our parents to relax by the pool or in the hotel’s spa after an active day out.

For adults and older children who still feel full of energy after a day in the mountains, the hotel offers fitness classes such as yoga, Zumba and aqua aerobics, and has a modern gym. There is also a bike park nearby, where teenagers in particular can practice their biking skills.

The highlight of this holiday will be our 6-day activity and excursion programmeexclusively for our single parent families. The programme will feature a range of different activities, including guided hikes in stunning scenery, a visit of a beautiful animal park high up in the mountains, an Olympic ice rink, cart racing, wild water rafting, a visit of the tax-free shopping paradise Andorra La Vella and/or the Caldea Thermal Spa with indoor and outdoor pools heated by natural springs, longs slides and water chutes.

Programme

Your SPoH host will organize and accompany the group on the 6-day family activity and excursion programme scheduled exclusively for our single parent families. We will offer a varied programme for all ages with a range of fun activities to choose from. Below are some examples of the activities planned – please note the programme will be finalised closer to departure:

  • Guided hikes for different levels of ability, daily from the hotel, incl. ‘night of the stars’ hike
  • Day trip to Palau de Gel for karting on ice, the kids circuit on electric vehicles, ice laser combat and much more
  • Day trip to Naturlandia animal park, home to the Pyrenean Brown Bear
  • 4 x 4 jeep tour and wild water rafting (canyoning can also be included)
  • Visit Andorra la Vella, historic town and tax-free shopping paradise
  • Go karting: Get the adrenaline flowing on this 500 m track for adults & kids
  • Caldea Thermal Spa: 6000 m² of indoor & outdoor lagoons, saunas, Jacuzzis, lazy river, grapefruit pool, etc.

In addition to our family activity programme, you can visit the nearby bike park, use the hotel’s modern gym, take fitness classes or visit the impressive spa for adults and children from the age of 14. The spa is spread out over 5 floors featuring a range of saunas, whirlpools, an indoor pool and treatment rooms (at a local surcharge).

About Andorra

The Principality of Andorra is located in the eastern Pyrenees and bordered by Spain and France. The capital, Andorra la Vella, is the highest capital city in Europe at over 1,000 metres above sea level and popular with tourists for its many great value designer shops, due to the low rates of taxation. Andorra is the 6th smallest country in Europe and the official language is Catalan, although Spanish and French are also widely spoken. The country is only 468 square miles in size and has 84,000 inhabitants, who can however enjoy the 3rd highest life expectancy in the world.

Andorra is a hugely popular holiday destination all year round. The summers are dry, with lots of sunshine and a fresh mountain breeze, making it ideal for hikes through the stunning countryside, and there is an abundance of summer activities on offer.

The mountains are predominantly rugged, and the highest mountain in Andorra is Coma Pedrosa at 2,943 metres. We will be staying in Soldeu, a lovely small village in the heart of the Pyrenees located at 1,700 m and the ideal base for exploring the diverse beauty of the Pyrenees.

This means you can travel from any airport in the UK, Ireland or elsewhere in the world. Return flights for this holiday currently start at around £150 per person, depending on departure airport, airline and time of booking.

Your transfer from and to Barcelona el Prat airport on the advertised holiday dates at designated arrival and departure times is included in our holiday price (short waiting times may apply).

We are therefore pleased to announce that, at no extra cost to you, and in accordance with the “The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018” all passengers booking with Single Parents on Holiday Ltd. are fully insured for the initial deposit, and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation invoice. The policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Single Parents on Holiday Ltd.
