Kids facilities and kids club:

Our hotel has a kids club for 4 to 12 year olds; open in the morning and afternoon, this offers a kids’ programme including organised play, sports and arts and crafts. There is also a playground and a kids’ pool for the little ones at our hotel as well as table tennis and table football. For older children and teenagers, there is a daily sports programme on offer including beach volleyball, boccia and darts, as well as fitness classes and water sports.

The beach and water sports:

Our hotel is on a long sandy beach stretching for miles in both directions so it is never crowded. The warm, crystal-clear water remains shallow for a long way out making the sea here perfect for family swimming. For water sports lovers, there is an excellent water sports centre at the beach offering water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, stand-up paddling and banana boat rides, as well as jet ski and pedalo hire. Snorkelling and fishing equipment can also be hired at the beach. And for anyone wishing to see more of the surrounding area, boat and bike hire are also available.

Excursions:

For anyone wishing to see more of this region, a range of excursions will be available. The excursions on offer include a day-trip to the city of Thessaloniki, complete with sightseeing and shopping, jeep safari through the countryside, a visit to Meteora with its famous clifftop monasteries, a Mount Athos cruise, a day’s sailing between the peninsulas of Kassandra and Sithounia, a day at the aquapark, and a Greek evening, including traditional food, drinks and dance. More information about excursions will be provided by your SPoH host upon arrival.

To keep you refreshed during the day, the hotel has a beach bar and three pool bars offering drinks, snacks and lunch. There is also a small supermarket within walking distance, should you want to stock up on refreshments. In the evenings, our single parent families can enjoy a pre-dinner drink at the Toroneos Bar, with its beautiful sea views. Dinner is then served at the hotel’s buffet restaurant, Artemis. To round off the evening, you can enjoy live music and a post-dinner drink at one of the hotel bars.

The peninsula of Halkidiki

Halkidiki is a peninsula 60 kilometres south of the Greek city of Thessaloniki. The peninsula has a highly distinctive shape, reminiscent of three ‘fingers’ of land pointing out into the Aegean Sea. Halkidiki is renowned for its beautiful coves and bays, rocky headlands, secluded white beaches and crystal-clear waters, as well as its olive groves and pine forests. The beaches are famous worldwide and widely considered to be some of the best anywhere in Greece. No fewer than 45 of the local beaches have been awarded Blue Flags for their quality.

Our hotel is located on the first finger of Halkidiki, in Kassandra, between the villages of Kallithea and Kriopigi. Its location is breathtaking and offers contrasting natural landscapes of unique beauty. It is surrounded by a verdant wooded area reaching all the way down to a golden beach and the crystal-clear blue waters of the Gulf of Toroni.

The climate in this part of Greece is typically Mediterranean, with lots of sunshine, and summer temperatures in the early 30s in the summer months. The sea is pleasantly warm with an average sea temperature of 25 degrees in August. The region has a great deal to offer anyone with an interest in culture and history. It is home to Mount Athos, the Holy Mountain – created, according to Greek legend, after the giant Athos threw an enormous rock at the father of the gods, Zeus. Mount Athos, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, has been an Orthodox spiritual centre since 1054, and has enjoyed an autonomous statute since Byzantine times. The caves at Petralona, a local archaeological site containing prehistoric settlements, are around 7,000 years old.
