Come and join us on a short break for solo travellers in Slovenia! Whether you are a single parent with children too old to join you on holiday, or just feel like a break on your own, this solo trip has something for everyone. You’ll have one of our team members there to look after you throughout the trip, while a local guide shows you the highlights of Slovenia and gives you an insight into the country’s varied culture and history.

For this solo holiday, we will be staying at the beautiful 4-star boutique Hotel Triglav in Bled, with its breathtaking views of Lake Bled and the Julian Alps beyond. Rich in history and culture, our hotel features original antiques and artwork, and offers all the comforts our discerning guests need after a day out exploring the main sights of this beautiful country. We have reserved comfortable and spacious double rooms for single occupancy with balcony and lake view, which come with cable TV, telephone, safety deposit box and mini bar, and an ensuite bathroom with hairdryer and bathrobe.

Our hotel also has an indoor pool and Finnish sauna, a terrace with lake view to enjoy your coffee or a drink, and a restaurant specialising in local cuisine with a modern twist. Breakfast is in buffet form, while dinner is a 3-course meal with table service. If you have any special dietary needs, these will be accommodated, naturally.

Programme

We have outlined the following programme (which may be subject to change) for this solo holiday. Note that your taxi transfers and most of the activities below are included in your holiday price – for more details, please go to “Dates and Prices”:

Day 1 – arrival day: Transfer by private taxi directly from the airport to your hotel. Check-in and time to relax and unpack. The afternoon programme for our solos group starts with a hike along the shores of Lake Bled followed by leisurely wine-tasting and dinner at your hotel in the evening, with panoramic views of Lake Bled.

Day 2: Pick up from the hotel in the morning to start our solos programme for the day. Our local tour guide will show you the best of Ljubljana, Slovenia’s elegant leafy capital, with a sightseeing tour of the charming old town, surrounded on one side by a  castle-topped hill and on the other by the peaceful Ljubljanica river, followed by free time for lunch and/or shopping. We will then drive on to the world-famous Postojna Cave, with its impressive stalactites and stalagmites and featuring the only two-track underground cave rail in the world, and to Predjama Castle, built in the 13th century in Gothic style. Return to the hotel by early evening.

Day 3: Pick-up in the morning. We visit medieval Bled Castle, followed by a boat trip on Lake Bled to visit Bled Island and the Church of Assumption, and free time in Bled to enjoy lunch. Afternoon free for relaxation. Your host will also be organising a bike tour or rafting tour for any of our solo travellers interested in these activities (weather permitting).

Day 4 – departure day: Check-out and transfer by private taxi directly to the airport.

About Slovenia

Slovenia is a small Slavic country south of Austria, part of the EU and the most northerly region of the former Yugoslavia. It borders Austria to the north, Hungary to the east, Croatia to the south and Italy to the west. Famous for its vast network of caves and rivers, most notably the renowned Postojna site, and its numerous vineyards and endless forests and mountains, Slovenia has rapidly been transformed into Europe’s best-kept secret for holidaymakers. With a population of fewer than 300,000, the beautiful city of Ljubljana is one of the smallest capitals in Europe and its much-envied national parks are one of the few parts of Europe still to be roamed by brown bears in the wild. Due to its Alpine-Mediterranean climate, Slovenia benefits from dry hot summers.

Bled is Slovenia’s beauty spot and one of the prettiest Alpine resorts in Europe. Famed for its emerald green lake, picture-postcard church on an islet and medieval castle, Bled is home to some of the highest peaks in the Julian Alps and Karawanks mountain ranges. The main sights are the beautiful Lake Bled itself and Bled Island. There is plenty to do here, from leisurely hikes around the lake to ascending the old castle perched on top of a steep cliff above Lake Bled. We are therefore pleased to announce that, at no extra cost to you, and in accordance with the “The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018” all passengers booking with Single Parents on Holiday Ltd. are fully insured for the initial deposit, and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation invoice. The policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Single Parents on Holiday Ltd.
