Together with St. Anton/St. Christoph/Stuben and Warth-Schröcken, the Lech-Zürs ski area forms Ski Arlberg. Austria’s largest connected ski resort offers no less than 305 perfectly groomed slopes – an unparalleled choice of blue, red, and black runs for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. Ski Arlberg also has no less than 200 km of off piste terrain and outstanding snow parks for adrenaline lovers.

With an excellent snow record and slopes reaching up to 2,800 m, Ski Arlberg is the perfect choice for a pre-Christmas ski trip. The village itself is located at 1,700 m with as many as 7 lifts in the village centre making it a fantastic ski in/ski out resort.

If you want to try out some other winter sports activities, the resort has 27 km of well groomed cross-country tracks and 67 km of winter hiking trails. For daredevils there is also helicopter skiing and speed riding (a combination of skiing and paragliding) on offer whilst the 4 km long toboggan run in St. Anton is open for flood-lit tobogganing a couple of evenings a week – an experience not to be missed!

There is a fair amount of on-mountain partying going on in the area. Later on, you can head to one of the pubs or bars in Zürs if you fancy a drink after taking off your skis for the day. For those seeking a livelier experience, the buzzy resort of St Anton has many renowned bars with live music and partying, like the Krazy Kanguruh, whilst the more upmarket neighbouring Lech is popular with royals and rock stars.

Zürs also offers itself for a stroll to check out the sports, souvenir, and fashion shops or one of the lovely cafés and bars in the village which all have a great atmosphere.

Located in the West of Austria, in the province of Vorarlberg near the Flexenpass, Zürs is a trendy ski resort in the famed Arlberg region. The Arlberg region is seen as the pioneer of winter sports by many as the first skiing lessons were held here by locals for guests in 1906 and the first lift  was built in 1937.

Today, Zürs has established itself as one of the world’s elite winter sports destinations, with a range of luxurious hotels, trendy bars, and gourmet restaurants. The lifts in the centre of the village offer easy excess to perfectly groomed pistes. For the past few years, Zürs has been connected to the neighbouring Stuben, St. Christoph, and St. Anton via the Trittkopfbahn and Flexenbahn cable cars giving visitors access to the entire Ski Arlberg region. Zürs is said to have the second-best snow fall record in the Alps, so is renowned for its amazing snow conditions, the result of a combination of its high altitude and snowy microclimate.

When it comes to après skiing, Zürs may be notably quieter in the evening than nearby St. Anton, yet equally popular and fashionable with the rich and famous, attracted by the luxurious hotels, fine spas, and gourmet restaurants the area has to offer.
