Accommodation:

We will be staying at the traditional 4-star hotel Neue Post, winner of Tripadvisor’s prestigious Certificate of Excellence. Our hotel is located just off the buzzing centre of Mayrhofen, conveniently located for shops, cafés and après-skiing, as well as the Penken cable car station. Our family-run hotel is furnished in traditional Tyrolean style giving it a cosy feel. There is a restaurant, bar area, café with Austrian patisserie, kids room, teenage area, spa and indoor pool as well as a spa with several saunas, steam room, infrared cabin, relaxation areas and treatment rooms for massages.

The Ski Resort – Mayrhofen:

The Penken cable car station, entry to the ski circuit of the famous Zillertal Alps, can be reached on foot in ten minutes or, for those who prefer not to walk, a ski shuttle stops right outside our hotel. Slopes stretching across several mountains up to a height of 2,500 m make Mayrhofen the ideal resort for single parent ski holiday at Easter. There are plenty of slopes for beginners and family skiing in Mayrhofen, as well as challenging pistes for the most advanced skiers and a fun snow park. Our Prices:

£1050 per adult and from £790 for the first child depending on age. Second children under 12 receive a 25% discount. Included in this price is half-board, transfers from/to Innsbruck or Munich airport and all facilities at our 4-star hotel. Not included are your flights, ski hire, lessons and lift passes. Mayrhofen in Austria’s famous Ziller Valley is one of the most famous ski regions in Europe. Slopes reaching an altitude of 2,500 m offer great conditions for a single parent ski holiday at Easter. Mayrhofen’s three mountains, Ahorn, Penken and Eggalm, offer a total of 139 km of pistes and 45 modern lifts, with something for all levels of ability: from challenging black runs, including the Harikiri piste on Penken – the steepest piste in Austria – to the more leisurely blue and red runs on Ahorn, which is home to the famous White Lounge, a combination of igloo bar and chill-out lounge. The impressive Penken snow park with 8 different park areas and the Hintertux glacier, where you can ski not just at Easter but all year round, are an experience in their own right.

If you’re new to skiing or want to improve your skills, Austria’s ski schools are renowned for their qualified instructors, who will teach you and your children the skills you need to return year after year. About Mayrhofen

The Resort of Mayrhofen in Tyrol, Austria:

Mayrhofen is located in Austria’s Ziller Valley, approximately one hour from Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. The main ski region in Mayrhofen is Penken, but the resort is also connected to the Ziller Valley (Zillertal) ski area with access to 489 km of downhill skiing, with 91 individual pistes served by 177 ski lifts. Mayrhofen is located close to the Hintertux glacier at 3,250 metres, which offers skiing all year round.

Our hotel is in the centre of the village of Mayrhofen, at the end of the main high street with its wide range of restaurants, bars, cafés and boutiques. Characterised by beautiful Alpine buildings, the resort is lively and fun, and popular with English winter sports enthusiasts.

If you’re looking for a broader winter sports experience on your single parent ski holiday, there is also a range of other great sporting activities on offer in Mayrhofen and the surrounding area, including horse-drawn carriage rides through the countryside, cross-country skiing, snowshoe walks, an adventure pool with spa, ice skating and ice curling.

"Mayrhofen provides a great family skiing experience. There is a good range of slopes taking learners from gentle to more challenging terrain, and a few tougher ones to keep the speed demons happy. "We went to Austria with Single Parents on Holiday for the first time this half term and I would really recommend it. Sandra was fantastic at helping me choose the right holiday for us and was very honest and open about the different types of people who would be there. I chose this one as I wanted a mix of mums and dads as this was important for my children, who lost their dad 2 years ago. At first it was a little hard trying to get to know everyone, as there were a number who had been on holiday together before, but as the week went on, we started to get to know everyone more. Sandra and Tennessee were very good at mixing with everyone and ensuring that no one was left out. I personally really enjoyed meeting a variety of different people, different ages and backgrounds and the dinners in the evening were really fun. They organised a great tobogganing evening, which the kids loved. The hotel was excellent and very Austrian which was lovely. The staff were very helpful and it was very clean. The pool and sauna facilities were very good. We really enjoyed being in the beautiful town of Mayrhofen and it was lovely walking through the town after a day's skiing. The skiing itself was excellent with lots of great runs and we were fortunate to have lots of snow. We have made some really good friends and had lots of fun. We will definitely book again. Book your own flight from any airport in the UK and Ireland. Your airport transfers to/from your hotel are included in our prices if you arrive/depart on the advertised holiday dates. Please note that for this Easter ski holiday, we will arrange your transfer by:

  • shuttle or taxi from INNSBRUCK AIRPORT shared with other single parent families from our group if these arrive within 90 minutes of your arrival, or
  • shuttle from MUNICH AIRPORT (not exclusive for our families) departing within 90 minutes of your arrival

The policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Single Parents on Holiday Ltd.
