Our Programme:

We will offer a 6-day family activity programme for our single parents and their children on this holiday, with a few extra activities available at a local surcharge. Our programme will include the following activities, which are included in our price, unless otherwise stated:

• Arrival day: Welcome drink and short introduction to the farm
• Sunday: Picturesque hike through the mountains with time for lunch at a typical Austrian hut (cost of lunch not included)
• Monday: Play day in the morning at the farm under the supervision of a childminder and introduction to horse riding in the afternoon. Children’s lunch included in our price.
• Tuesday: Tractor ride at the farm in the afternoon. Optional: high-rope garden and zip line in the morning (subject to a local surcharge)
• Wednesday: Visit to a herbal farm and afternoon at Moosheim castle with a ‘haunted house’ programme for the children
• Thursday: Adventure day at the farm for the children under supervision of a childminder but parents can join in too. Lunch is included for the children. Torch-lit hike in the evening.
• Friday: Carriage ride to a local beekeeper and the beautiful Salza waterfalls. Optional: Tandem flying late afternoon or visit to a thermal spa with adventure pool (subject to a local surcharge)

Please note that all activities and the activity schedule above may be subject to change, in case of adverse weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.

Horse riding: Our farm has its own horses and ponies, and you can book riding lessons and rides through the countryside at any time.

The region:

Our farm is located in Mitterberg near Gröbming on a sunny high plateau surrounded by lush meadows and green forests in the beautiful Austrian province of Styria. Aside from its stunning landscape, Styria is best known for its thermal spas, castles and its wine. Its capital Graz blends Renaissance and baroque architecture with modern designs and is worth a visit in its own right with its hilltop castle and furnicular train. Our farm in Upper Styria is right in the heart of Austria, not far from the popular holiday region Schladming-Dachstein, with more than 1000 km of hiking trails and a true holiday paradise for outdoor lovers and those seeking a healthy lifestyle.

Naturally, our farm hotel has its own organic fruit and vegetable garden, stables with horses and ponies, and endless fields and meadows – plenty of space for its many farm animals. Anybody wishing to explore their surroundings further can hire bikes at our farm or just go for a walk through the picturesque countryside. For all passionate horse riders or riders to be, our farm has large riding grounds and offers lessons for all ages, from beginners to advanced. Our farm hotel has childminders and at least one of them will accompany our group on some of the activities, such as the castle visit, play day and adventure day at the farm and the riding introduction lessons on the first day, allowing our single mums and dads to take some time out and relax by the pool in the safe knowledge that their child/ren are being looked after.

This holiday introduces you to life on a farm with a fun activity programme for all ages, staying in one of the most beautiful parts of Austria, breathing in clean Alpine air and allowing the children to run free in a very safe environment.
