"Another fantastic holiday with SPOH! Such a lovely hotel - a beautiful setting with two large pools and plenty of sun loungers as well as a gorgeous sandy beach just in front. We loved watching the stunning sunsets and enjoyed a camel ride too. The trip to the Souk and Medina were both a great experience and we felt very safe with a local guide as well as the host. As always, such a lovely group of adults and children and a very helpful and friendly host. Already looking forward to my next SPOH holiday!"

"Had a fabulous time in Morocco, the hotel was very comfortable, food excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful. We did a mixture of pool and sea and beach. Plenty of activities for the teenagers including table tennis, water and beach volley ball and my son used the football pitch. We did 3 trips on offer, the camel ride, Agadir and the boat trip, all were good fun. I met the other parents at the airport and dined with them every night, 9 adults and 10 kids and we all got on really well together. Esther and Abdelaziz were wonderful hosts. Abdelaziz was available every day and accompanied us on all the trips, he also took us on a walk along the promenade one evening. Thanks SPOH, another fabulous experience."

"This was our first SPOH and we had a fab time in Montenegro. The hotel was clean and the staff worked really hard. The location is just stunning, views are breath taking. I liked there were loads of sunbeds and so easy to go from the pool to beach. It felt very safe and nice size for the kids. The boat to the old town was nice and good to get out to see some of the area.
Sandra was friendly and helpful which took so much stress away so could relax and just enjoy the holiday. "

"This was my first Single Patents on Holiday vacation as well as first holiday going solo without partner. I was stressed and overwhelmed all the way until we arrived but soon was happy to realize that I had made the best decision I could make for myself and my daughter. Once we got there, I didn’t have to do any thinking. No, what’s for dinner, no what shall we do to be entertained. Our rep, Sandra was so friendly and on the case with all arrangements. Other parents were lovely. For the first time in months, I slept properly and was able to unwind enough to actually read a book. I could only do this as I was comfortable that my 11 year old was having the time of her life and didn’t need me as entertainment. "This was my first experience of booking a single parent holiday and I was initially apprehensive. This soon melted away upon arrival. Being able to mix with a group of like minded adults all in the same position made this holiday. The children formed friends quickly and found their own entertainment. I was actually able to relax and not worry, everyone chipped in keeping an eye on the kids. We all formed a great bond as parents and ended up spending a considerable amount of time together. As a single dad this was a revelation and made my holiday. I met some wonderful people, made friends whom I will stay in contact with and my son had one of his best ever holidays.
I cannot recommend Single Parents on Holiday highly enough. If anyone is reading this because they too are feeling apprehensive about booking, please just book, you will not be disappointed."

"This holiday to Montenegro was fabulous on many levels. A group of like minded single parents, caring and fun individuals that made the week so special. Some "me time", some time to relax with adults, some sightseeing time, all of those in a magnificent setting. I could not ask for more! "This was my first single parent holiday. And it was nice to be together in Montenegro, even if my son (5) and I couldn't integrate so much due to the age difference with the older children and teenagers. But it was still a good feeling to be with other single parent families.
The boat trip with our group to the blue grotto was brilliant. Swimming there in the morning before the other tourist boats arrived was a special experience. Sandra helped me book a bus tour of Montenegro which I did independently of the group, and was able to see so much of this beautiful and impressive country.
The hotel is very nice. I would go there again. The water is crystal clear and the scenery is impressive. With a small boat, which runs almost every hour, you can go directly from the hotel to Heceg Novi (10 minutes). Our room was top notch. I booked sea view and was given a room on the top floor with fantastic views. The food in the restaurant was very good. And we had a nice view. My son was in the kids' club on the last morning and liked what was on offer and the staff were very friendly. Sandra as a host was great. She took care of everything and everyone. She is personal and professional with a lot of passion."

"Montenegro is a beautiful country, Iberostar is a great hotel, I could not fault the attentiveness of the team and the views are stunning. The entertainment team here are brilliant, there were lots of activities throughout the day and the enthusiasm is contagious. The aqua aerobics was a big hit!
Sandra is a great host, very welcoming, she organised various trips/days out and she brought the group together whilst you still had the option to dip in and out if you wish. We couldn't have asked for a friendlier group, a great time was had by both adults and children. I highly recommend it. Thank you for a fantastic holiday!"

Love the fact you can dip in and dip out of the activities and timings so you have the freedom to make your holiday your own whilst having the comfort of being looked after by a host (thank you Sandra - you are fabulous!). The staff were friendly and helpful. There was lots for the children to do, and the waterslides were really popular. The night-time entertainment was particularly impressive with shows and themed evenings. The beach bar sundown sessions were so lovely. Our host Jane was fantastic in every way, she met us when we arrived, helped us get tables to sit together for meals, and was on hand if we had any queries or problems. The reps provided a great balance between organised events and us looking after ourselves. They were always there if you had any questions and allowed us to tailor the week to our needs. There was no pressure to attend any trips but they were available if people wanted them. "

"This was my first time on a single parent holiday, so it was with some trepidation that I approached the holiday. I needn’t have worried. Within 2 hours of arriving my daughter had bonded with the other children. She had a wonderful time, which meant I could then relax and enjoy myself. It was a great group of people and we all got on well. Sometimes we would do things together, at other times people would do their own thing. The rep was superb and did a great job ensuring everyone was having a good time. We also hired bicycles and had a parents v kids football match (a very diplomatic draw ). "The February holiday in Fügen was our 4th trip with SPOH and probably the best so far. The hotel was very comfortable with superb facilities, staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the food good. Sandra and Ian, of course, were excellent hosts. I couldn't have hand picked a better selection of guests; the whole group got on really well, nobody was left out and the children all mucked in as one happy family. The only negative is the bus ride to the main ski area, but the varied pistes and beautiful scenery is well worth the wait."

Another great thing about SPOH holidays, was having childcare support every night to enable parents to relax and share a grown up dinner together. "Fantastic, total hands-off holiday. Kids were happy with other kids. We parents enjoyed our grown up conversations (mostly) at meal times. Skiing was great, although the Glacier was dangerously icy at the time of the year, we went. But where would you be able to ski at this time of the year, anyway. Both me and my 10 yr old daughter loved it, everyone was warm and lovely and put us at ease, even though it was our first time with the group. We both made friends that we can't wait to see and meet again."

We've been on several SPOH holidays and the organisation was, as ever, spot on and the hosts Sandra & Ian were never far away should any issues arise. Hintertux is a glorious place and my children learn to ski there but the slopes can be icy in October so it is maybe not the best place for beginners."

I felt like I had also had a break and it felt normal to be with people whose family set up was the same. My son and I could both dip in and out of the group environment, so still had plenty of time together but also the company of others when we wanted it.
Croatia was brilliant. Yes the hotel isn't 5 stars but it was ideal. It was big enough but not too big, so it felt safe enough to allow my son the freedom he wanted. The buffet breakfast and dinner was ideal. The location was excellent as it is near the beach with lots of things to do and a short tourist train ride into the lovely Porec.
There were lots of excursions, which we really enjoyed (water park, speed boat, kayaking etc) but you didn't have to take part if you didn't want to.
I would highly recommend this holiday."

"This was our second holiday with SPOH, we loved Cyprus last year, and Croatia was as good, if not better. The whole SPOH group got on really well together, there were other children the same age as my son and daughter who they could play with during the day, and in the evening. This meant I could relax and chat to the other parents, so it also felt like a holiday for me. I particularly loved how safe Croatia felt, we could wonder freely around the peninsular, down to the beach and to the local supermarket, and there was free WiFi across the whole area. The swimming pools (there are 2), where not huge, but never felt over crowded and there was never a problem getting a sun lounger, no matter what time of day. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would definitely recommend this holiday to others, particularly with pre-teen kids. "

"Ian, our host was amazing. He is very well organised and does his research. We had a small issue on our arrival day which Ian dealt with speedily. The speedboat trip from Porec is a must; the kids will love it. The inflatables are also good. We ate at the cafe bar by the pool and the food and drinks were good. Take cash with you on this holiday as it’s the preferred method of payment in most places. The trip to Rovinj is lovely although we would have preferred a day there rather than 2 hours. It’s a lovely place to visit and has some very pretty cafes and bars. Good place to shop if you have time. We were very lucky to see dolphins on a taxi speedboat ride. "

"Travelling with SPOH made it so much easier for me to relax on our holiday. Our host did all the trip organisation and was always happy to provide any help and support needed to make our stay enjoyable. Having the company of the group was really lovely for me and for my daughters. "Istria is a lovely location, very scenic and picturesque with clean, crystal clear waters. The two pools were good and there was plenty to do around the hotel complex - inflatables, beach volleyball, pedaloes, snorkelling, water skiing and boat trips for example. The weather was glorious and the food suited all tastes. "

Being a single parent, meeting others in the same situation is such a lovely thing to do. Going in such a large group does have many beneifits as you will always meet someone you can connect with and my child made lots of friends which was great to see.

Its a perfect place to be if you like water activities. Our favourite trip was to the waterpark, 5 minutes in a taxi from the hotel. We would've happily stayed another week! The SPOH group all got on really well too, kids and adults alike. Lots of new friendships have been made."

"Croatia is a stunning location; very green and picturesque. The coastline is quite rocky but beautiful terraces have been created with natural stone for you to sunbathe, snorkel or just swim from. The water is very clear and blue, making it very easy to see the fish. There is lots to do at the resort…..you can venture into Porec on the mini train or visit Rovinj via the fjords in a taxi or by boat.
We visited Porec at night, ate in an amazing restaurant, slightly out of town (suitable for all ages) and returned to the hotel by water taxi - wow! What an experience …very 007!
Our host Tomas was most charming and really great at organizing everything. We met some great people and made fabulous memories. "

"The hotel is located on a resort but you feel like it is the only hotel. There is a lovely harbour as you walk down from the hotel and this leads to a small forest and the waters edge. A must for some chill time, swimming in the beautiful sea or a lazy day on a hammock under a tree with a sea view. There is music in the hotel at night, which is nice and relaxing. Although it woke up on the Friday evening when Elvis appeared. I think Elvis was ready to leave the building after he had us doing the Choo Choo train to Viva Las Vegas!
The activities offered and arranged were outstanding. We had a great day at the water park – suitable for all ages.
Dolphin watching was made extra special with the excitement of the little ones aged 5 – 10. A great boat trip and snorkelling, although the children seemed to be enjoying the warm sea and jumping off the boat. We had the wonderful Thomas as our host and he was always close at hand and available to us all. He arranged at our request a meal out, which took us to a beach, which felt exclusive to the group. The children of all ages wandered, played and there was much laughter. The highlight of the night and my trip was the water taxi home in the dark. An experience definitely not to be missed."

"My 12 year old son said that it was the best holiday he had ever been on, and he's very hard to please, so for him to say that is really something special. We all had a blast. The kids had a ball playing with the other kids in the pool during the day, and in the hotel after dinner, and we all enjoyed going on the various activities and excursions. The parents had time to relax and chat and have a beer or read a book, while the kids were busy having fun with the other kids. We were all great friends by the end of the week. I dread going away just me and her as it can be hard to meet people and is very full on just the two of us so this was a great option for us. Ski instructors were also great, my daughter usually hates group lessons but she really enjoyed herself with her new fiends and I enjoyed skiing with the other parents. "I travelled to Kitzbuhel/Reith with my two daughters, Meadhbh (8) and Sadhbh (12). On arrival at the Hotel Lisi, we were warmly welcomed by two of our lovely hosts, Sandra & Will, who took our bags and organised a very stress free check in. The hotel was of a very high standard, very comfortable, extremely clean and had lovely spacious rooms.
Everything throughout the week was so well organised. On the day of arrival we were given our pre ordered ski passes and took a private shuttle to collect our ski equipment. Seeing as the hotel was a 5 minute drive from the cable car, a private shuttle transported us daily to and from the slopes. I have to compliment the exceptional instructors at the 'Snowsport Kirchberg' ski school who made our week of skiing such a rewarding and enoyable experience. The children were taken to lunch with their own instructors during their ski lessons which was great and as I was able to relax and enjoy the company of my own ski group during our break. The resort has a lovely mix of runs to accommodate skiing of all levels.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I signed up to this group holiday as it was a first for me. It can be a daunting experience as a single parent taking your kids on holiday but it was an absolute pleasure to be in the company and have the support of such a wonderful group of like minded single parents. The children thoroughly enjoyed making friends and spending time with the other children. A huge emphasis is placed on entertaining children at this hotel. They had freedom and independence to explore all the facilities and play in a very safe environment under the watchful eye of the amazing hotel staff.
I would highly recommend this ski trip and SPOH. A huge thank you to Sandra, Will & Ian for your wonderful organisation, support and company during our trip. You went above and beyond in making sure we all had a wonderful time. We have come away with wonderful memories and we definitely hope to join you all on another trip in the future. "

The hotel was exceptional in catering for children, from the little extras in the hotel room (bed guards, steps, children's toiletries, children's robes), the games and ice cream machine in reception, to the simply amazing soft play/trampoline/activity centre, complete with childminders. The organisation was great and nothing was to much trouble for Sandra. I was nervous about taking a small child on holiday on my own, but was so glad I did. My son enjoyed himself thoroughly, both skiing and in the hotel facilities, and I got to relax a bit. Above all, it was great sharing the experience with other like minded single parents. Lisi World (the kids area) was wonderful as it was a huge play barn where the kids could run around supervised for hours if adults wanted a break or to chat after dinner. There were also other on site activities such as Mountain Drop and a climbing tower and tennis courts.
Daniela hosted wonderfully and we had some great days out which had a range of options so you could pick what suited your child's age and appetite for adventure. "My daughters and I had an unforgettable holiday in Lanzarote, with the opportunity to see many unique things like the vulcano and to enjoy the beautiful hotel where we were accomodated. At the restaurant of the hotel the food is delicious and the staff is very helpful: even in cases of allergies or intolerances, like in my case, they are still able to offer you delicious and safe food. Andrea was a perfect host and did all her best to make us happy and enjoying our holiday, at the point that the only issue was that the holiday was over too early!"

"I had an amazing holiday at Gelindo De Magredi. The photos do not do it justice. Everywhere is green and filled with flowers. There are shady terraces under grapevines. It’s incredibly charming. The kids were able to play ‘free range’ – whilst a kids club is fun it’s not the same as having freedom to run around and explore in a safe outdoors area. The activities were fun and varied - especially the cooking and the farm animals - and the days felt very full. We met lovely people and the SPOH tour helper was so kind, caring and patient- what an extremely lovely woman. We were well organised and able to make adjustments to the itinerary based on the weather which was very smart to optimise the holiday. I was nervous about travelling as a single parent but this is a great holiday and I think all parents would find it meets their needs in terms of facilities, comfort, food, experiences, safety and making happy memories. "I had a fabulous holiday in Marrakesh as a single parent of a 7 year old boy. I had no idea what to expect but it turned out to be a wonderful holiday. My son was crying and did not want to leave as he had formed bonds with the other children. Jane was a great host. "We had a lovely time on holiday in Marrakesh. The resort was fabulous with lots to do, comfortable rooms and delicious food. The weather at Easter is ideal, nice and sunny without being too hot. We enjoyed getting out and about, seeing the sights of the city of Marrakesh and also exploring further afield to the Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains. Highlights were going camel riding and watching the sun set over the Djemaa el Fna.

"I took my 5 year old daughter on this trip and it was a sensational holiday for us both. The excursion to the souks was a real cultural experience - with snake charmers and handmade items galore. The vibrant colours and vivid designs were truly breathtaking. The local guide meant that we were not hassled too much and I’d recommend checking local prices to avoid being ripped off. I’d also take a buggy/stroller if your child isn’t great at walking longer distances. The weather was absolutely perfect varying between 25 and 29 degrees which meant that the children spent the majority of their time in the swimming pools. The Atlas Mountain excursion is well worth it. Overall an amazing holiday that we didn’t want to end! We managed to find a local camel ride which just topped everything off! You won’t regret going on this holiday."

"This was my second Single Parents On Holiday trip and very different to the first. This is more of a city break with the added benefit of a nice hotel with a pool. It was a great and safe way to see Marrakesh with children in tow. My boys were literally gobsmacked when Karmel lead us out of the Souk into the main square with its colours and snake charmers, dancers, monkeys and street sellers. The mix of old and new takes your breath away."

"My son and I have just returned from a trip to Marrakesh and wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had. It goes without saying the weather was fantastic; so lovely to leave a cold and wet Britain and travel to warmth and sunshine. The hotel was all inclusive so, as expected, we got the usual bounteous buffet for breakfasts and three course lunches and dinners, but, what I hadn’t anticipated was that the hotel snack bar would continue to provide food and drinks throughout the day without additional charge. “Snacks” ranged from freshly made pizzas, burgers, chips and pancakes and both alcoholic and soft drinks were served. The pizzas and pancakes made my son particularly happy! The hotel also had a wide range of facilities, including crazy golf, tennis, table tennis, boules, indoor and outdoor pools, football and volley ball! Enough to keep us entertained for the whole week even if we didn’t feel inclined to do any of the day trips. That said our guided adventures to the souks, the mountains and a very memorable dromedary ride were colourful and informative. Some of the families got into the real spirit of bartering. The two guides, Mustafa and Kamel, were wonderfully friendly and attentive. They kept an eye on the children, even whilst at the hotel, and joined in in playing crazy golf and table tennis. My son now wants a table tennis set after the tuition they gave him! The guides were also very flexible in changing trips or dates for trips to suit the families. As usual, with a SPoH holiday, I also got the chance to meet and make friends with the other families and we all got on so well we hope to meet on another holiday soon. So thanks again SPoH."

"Mayrhofen provides a great family skiing experience. There is a good range of slopes taking learners from gentle to more challenging terrain, and a few tougher ones to keep the speed demons happy. Also the direction of the pistes ensures there's always somewhere good to ski even when the sun is doing its best to melt the snow. The children had an amazing time making new friends and catching up with old ones, while I had the time to enjoy a great week with a welcoming and wonderfully diverse group of people. Being situated at the top of the cable car it really felt like my son was properly in the mountains with me even though he was just at the early stages of learning. We had fantastic sunshine on most days (Easter hols) so the snow was slushy and hard to ski in the afternoon but we were both very glad to hang out and relax in the hotel. There was opportunity to do things as part of the group, but no pressure to do so. "This was our first Single Parent on Holiday experience and I can honestly say my expectations were totally exceeded. It was amazing to spend quality time with my family but also a privilege to meet a like minded group of people who were interesting, friendly and fun. "A 10 to 15 minute private transfer from Paphos airport to the Athena Beach Hotel. Greeted by our wonderful rep Jane at this stunning hotel. Our room was large with air con, everything you want a mini bar, hairdryer, tv, iron, super comfy bed.
The hotel was full but there were never queues for drinks/food and we always got a sun lounger (you have to be early for one around the pool). The hotel grounds merge onto the beach, the sea is clear however the sea bed is undulating rocks but it didn't stop us snorkelling and swimming.
Food is in abundance and very nice too, waiter service was faultless both in restaurants and around the hotel grounds.
Jane organised several trips including aquapark, sunset cruise and a little shopping in the old town of Paphos and its harbour.
My son and I made amazing friendships and spent the days and nights with new friends, mums and dads all looked out for each other's children, whatsapp came in handy with meet ups and times of what's going on, such as cocktails on the terrace. My only downside a little was that the evening entertainment was nice but repetitive. There is still plenty of places to go outside hotel if you wish.
SPOH was amazing, you have the comfort of someone to help you if needed. Jane was fantastic on our trip."

"James and I attended the Peak District holiday in August 2021. We arrived at the same time as another family, James asked the two boys to play football and they became firm friends! The farmhouse was amazing, each bedroom was beautifully decorated, clean and modern. There was a huge kitchen where we could all eat together. There was two living rooms, which was ideal when parents wanted quiet time away from the kids. But the best part was the well-equipped games room in a separate building where James and his new friends spent many happy hours having fun.
Our holiday coordinator organised some fun trips, which we did as a whole group, group meals in the farmhouse and a local pub. Being part of such a friendly, large group of families was such fun. James and I have seen some of the families since the holiday, we are delighted to have made good friends. This is one of our favourite holidays, I cannot recommend it enough. Very well organised and fun with like-minded people. We will be doing another SPOH again for sure, we might even do this one again next year- maybe see you there!! "

My 13 year old for example took charge of the four year old and they developed a very sweet connection. The age range and size of the group does not matter, as most if not all of the activities suit families of all ages. We did lots of firsts on this holiday and created many happy memories."

The Dachstein area is very pretty with wonderful scenery. The family run Hotel a peaceful place to stay with good food which was enjoyable after building up appetites following our walks and various outings. A good head for heights needed for some activities! Would highly recommend this holiday for teens. My son loved the rafting, paragliding and the glacier visit. We had a fantastic time and have returned home refreshed and ready to think about our next trip away with SPoH!"

"We had a great holiday in Ramsau. There were lots of fun activities to do together – rafting, tandem flying, walking etc. We had some rain while we were there and Daniella, our group leader, juggled everything very efficiently so that we hardly noticed. Being in a group and having a helpful leader enabled us to do things that we wouldn’t have been able to do if I had taken the children on holiday on my own."

"This was by far the best holiday we’ve been on for a long time. From the moment we arrived, our host Daniela made us feel very welcome and had a really exciting programme of activity planned for our week. I really liked the fact that nothing was set in stone and that the group had the final say on what they wanted to do which took account of everyone’s needs and expectations. We had a fun packed week and got to do things that we would never have done on our own. Ramsau beach and the surrounding area was a perfect location for paragliding, mountain carting, hiking and just generally chilling in the mountains. It was perfect as the kids had a great time and equally so did the adults! A group holiday like this takes the stress out of going it alone. "From the moment we arrived at the airport it felt like our holiday had begun. We met up with one of the other families travelling whist boarding the plane and the holiday just got better and better. My children made friends instantly and the relaxed nature of the hotel meant they were free to play and enjoy them self. "Ian the host went above and beyond what I would have expected. Thanks to his dedication, the holiday ran smoothly and a great time was had by all (both parents and children).
The activities were well organised and there was a variety to suit all ages, but you had the option to opt out of activities if you wished.
The farm was idyllic location for children to all play together (in our group from 4 up to 15 years) without their phones, and they all made really good friends. By the end of the week we felt like one extended family!
Asked 'what was the highlight of her week?', my daughter answered 'everything!'"

"I took my nearly 3 year old son and at times we would leave early from visits because he would need his nap, that's the only thing different about taking a toddler. But I think the nap was more for me than him!
The accommodation was perfect (I asked for a bed against the wall for co sleeping and I got what I wanted) but I still needed to keep a sharp eye on him when wondering around the place which is understandable because it is not enclosed. The accommodation was split and he liked to pop down and up all the time... I was more tired than he was! Every morning he would groom the donkeys and his favourite visit was the farm (cuddling the piglets) and the beautiful beach where he explored the rock pools looking for crab with all the other children on the holiday. Everyone was really helpful and were lovely company. We look forward to booking again next year. "

"A fab holiday from start to finish. Sandra spoke to me on phone first as it was my first SPoH trip so I had some questions. Then when I got there it was so well thought out. Blackadon Farm was a great place in a beautiful setting. We loved that you could walk to the river and across the golf course to their clubhouse for yummy food. I was nervous as a single parent trying a holiday like this but Ruby was so welcoming and friendly. She really looked after us. She organised all our trips to various attractions as a group. She joined us on all the adventures and the chilled out evenings too. She got us chatting as a group and played board games with the kids in the evening so us mums could catch up over a glass of vino. We got on very well as a group. I'll be booking again! "

"I was hesitant about going as my son is only 2 years old, however our host was really welcoming and good with him and he had a great time mixing with the other children. The proximity of the room to the communal area gave me the chance to socialise in the evening too. We were able to join in with the daytime activities around the local area but we equally enjoyed playing in the stream and with the donkeys at the cottages. I’d definitely recommend this holiday for adults and children of all ages."
